Synopsis
In Beirut in the 1980’s, children grew up on the barricades and soon traded their toy pistols for real machine guns. War Generation – Beirut explores the lives and dreams of three generations of young people living in the heart of the Lebanese civil war.

Director Biography
Jean Chamoun and Mai Masri have directed and produced several award-winning films that were screened worldwide and won over 80 international awards. They founded Nour Productions in 1995 and produced numerous documentaries as well as two feature films: Jean Chamoun’s IN THE SHADOWS OF THE CITY (2000) which won the Cannes Junior Jury award, and Mai Masri’s, 3000 Nights (2015) which had its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival and won over 28 international awards.
Mai and Jean received international acclaim with their documentaries that were broadcasted on more than 100 television stations worldwide, including BBC, Channel 4, France 2, NHK and PBS.
