Carte Blanche Holder Biography
Boujemaa Hinde, Tunisian director and screenwriter. She began her career late in 2012 with her feature documentary "It Was Better Tomorrow", (official selection at the Venice Film Festival).
She later moved to fiction in 2015 with her short film "Romeo married Juliet".
In 2019 she directed her first feature film fiction "Noura’s Dream", (official selection in Toronto film festival, competition at the festival of San Sebastian, Tanit d'or at the Carthage film Festival).
In 2020, she received the SACD (Société des Auteurs Compositeurs Dramaturges) prize for best film author.
She is currently preparing her second feature film ''Yammi''.

هند بوجمعة، مخرجة وكاتبة سيناريو تونسية. بدأت حياتها المهنية أواخر عام ٢٠١٢ من خلال فيلمها الوثائقي الطويل "يا من عاش" (إختيارٌ رسمي في مهرجان البندقية السينمائي).
وفي عام ٢٠١٥ إنتقلت هند إلى الأفلام الروائية في فيلمها القصير "تزوج روميو من جولييت".
في عام ٢٠١٩ قامت بإخراج "حلم نورا"، وهو أول فيلمٍ روائي طويل لها (إختيارٌ رسمي في مهرجان تورنتو السينمائي، منافسٌ في مهرجان سان سيباستيان، التانيت الذهبي في مهرجان قرطاج السينمائي).
نالت عام ٢٠٢٠ جائزة SACD (جمعية المؤلفين والملحنين المسرحيين) لأفضل سيناريو.
تقوم هند الآن بالتحضير لفيلمها الطويل الثاني "Yammi".
Director’s Biography
Quebec Filmmaker Sophie Dupuis is known for her impactful and disturbing style of storytelling. The intense and unsettling stories she writes are driven by human complexity and sensibility. The characters she creates are both dazzling and tender.
After making many acclaimed Short Films from 2008 to 2016, Sophie went on directing her first Feature Film, “Family First” in 2018 with which she has shown her brilliant talent as an actor’s director. It is a vibrant portrayal of a dysfunctional and loving family tied into little corruption, lies and brutality. A story that introduces us to impetuous characters trying to fight for their life within a whirlwind of violence.
After eight nominations at Québec Cinéma Awards and four nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards, “Family First” was selected to represent Canada in the race for the Oscars 2018.

الفيلم هو تصويرٌ نابض بالحياة لعائلة مُختلة، مُحبة ومرتبطة، مع القليلٍ من الفساد والأكاذيب والوحشية. قصةٌ تعرفنا على شخصياتٍ متهورة تتقاتل من أجل حياتها داخل زوبعةٍ من العنف.
بعد ثمانِ ترشيحاتٍ لجوائز مهرجان "كيبيك" السينمائي، وأربعة ترشيحاتٍ في حفل توزيع جوائز الشاشة الكندية، تم اختيار فيلم "العائلة أولاً" لتمثيل كندا في سباق جوائز الأوسكار لعام ٢٠١٨.

Film Synopsis
Maxime, a Val-d’Or native in his early twenties, works in an underground mine near his hometown.
He’s on a 14 day off schedule. He shares his life between his girlfriend with whom he’s patiently trying to father a child and his childhood friend Julien, now disabled following a car accident caused by Maxime a year before.
Since then, guilt eats him slowly as he intends to redeem himself, only to find Mario, Julien’s father, on his path, slowing the process down. The father, who works at the mine with him, still holds a grudge for his role in the accident.
One night, there is an explosion in the mines. Maxime heads underground that night with the firm intention to bring all his colleagues back alive..
Through the daily life of these mine workers, Souterrain puts forward the contrast between the harshness of the setting of underground mines and the great humanitarian principles of its workers.

هو في إجازة لمدة 14 يوماً. يتشارك حياته بين حبيبته والتي يحاول معها بصبرٍ الحصول على طفلٍ، وبين صديق طفولته جوليان، الذي أصبح الآن معاقاً بعد تعرضه لحادث سيارة تسبب به مكسيم قبل عام
منذ ذلك الحين، يتأكله الشعور بالذنب ببطء، وكّلما عقدَ النية على تحرير نفسه، وجد ماريو، والد جوليان، عائقاً في طريقه، الأمر الذي أدى لإبطاء العملية. والد جوليان، الذي يعمل معه في المنجم، لا يزال يحمل الضغينة تجاه مكسيم بسبب تسببه بالحادث.
ذاتَ ليلة، وقع إنفجارٌ تحت الأرض. يتوجه مكسيم إلى تحت الأرض في تلك الليلة، عازماً على إعادة جميع زملائه أحياء.
