Film Synopsis
A group of street entertainers playing in the poor sectors of Cairo, Touha is the Belly Dancer of the group who dreams to work one day in a nightclub and become a famous belly dancer. Viro, Bolbol, El-Gamal and Touha collect the piaster from the people in the streets and give them back some smiles.
This Film Received the French Critic's Prize in Grenoble short film festival/ France 1973.

فى طرقات الأحياء الشعبية فى القاهرة تتجول فرق التسلية، يلعبون الأكروبات، والأراجوز وتصاحبهم الراقصة الشعبية، يحملون البهجة بموسيقاهم، للأطفال وسكان البيوت الذين يطلون عليهم للفرجة، ويلقون إليهم بعض القروش القليلة. الفيلم حائز على جائزة جمعية النقاد السينمائيين الفرنسيين فى مهرجان جرينوبل 1973.

Film Synopsis
The Suez Canal is the gift of the Egyptians to the world; it was the first step to link the west and the east in our modern time. The Egyptian dug it and martyred for it. They cultivate, inhabited the surrounded land and they suffer enough for years, but now what is the changes that happen in the Suez Canal zone.

ملخص الفيلم
الفيلم يحكى قصة حفر قناة السويس، وترعة الإسماعيلية على يد الفلاحين المصريين، وبأيديهم تحولت من أراض صحراوية إلى أراض خضراء تكتظ بالحدائق والمزروعات التقليدبة. والآن تحولت المنطقة إلى فيلات فاخرة من الأسمنت بنيت عليها؛ بعد أن نجحت الرأسمالية الطفيلية فى شراء الأرض من الفلاحين باسم تنمية المنطقة وتحويلها إلى قرى سياحية. والفيلم يحكى عما أصاب مجرى القنال والبحيرات من تلوّث للبيئة وفقدان للأراضى الزراعية التى كانت تنتج أجود أنواع الفاكهة والخضر لمصر كلها. جائزة جمعية نقاد السينما المصريين (مهرجان الإسماعيلية 1992).

One fine day in the life of the children of Aboud village, situated in 600 km. to the South of Cairo. As children play and help prepare a meal, we witness everyday life in the small remote village, that seems to have escaped the passage of time, an illusion that is shattered in the film's final frames.

يوم فى حياة أطفال قرية أبنود بمحافظة قنا/ صعيد مصر والتى تبعد عن القاهرة 600 كيلو متر. أبنود لا يتوقف على محطتها أى من القطارات الفاخرة الذاهبة إلى مدينة الأقصر السياحية.

Director’s Biography
Ateyyat Al Abnoudy (November 26, 1939 – October 5, 2018), was an Egyptian film director, writer and producer. Al Abnoudy studied law in the University of Cairo and attained her degree in 1963. She later attended the Cairo Higher Institute of Cinema to pursue her film studies and graduated in 1972. She also obtained the National Film and Television School fellowship in Britain in year 1976 and became one of the most prominent filmmakers in Egypt. She later established her own production house “Abnoudy Film”. In all her films, she shed the light on the daily social life of the hard-working labor communities of Egypt.
Critics described her as the “Ambassador of Documentaries” and as the Egyptian pioneer of poetic-realism in docufilms. El Abnoudy has received many national and international awards, of which:
The award for the Best Co-Produced Documentary for the film “Rhythm of Life” in the Valencia Film festival in Spain year 1990.
The Egyptian Film Writers and Critics Association Award for the film “Sellars and Buyers” in the year 1992.
لمحة عن مخرجة
عطيات الأبنودي (توفيت يوم 5 أكتوبر 2018)، هي مخرجة وكاتبة ومنتجة مصرية. درست القانون بكلية الحقوق في جامعة القاهرة وحازت على درجة الليسانس في عام 1963، كما واصلت الدراسة بعدها بالمعهد العالي للسينما وتخرجت منه في عام 1972، كما حصلت على زمالة مدرسة السينما والتليفزيون الدولية من بريطانيا في عام 1976، وباتت واحدة من أبرز الأسماء في صناعة الأفلام التسجيلية في مصر، كما أنها قامت بتأسيس شركة انتاج، وهى شركة (أبنود فيلم)، واهتمت في كافة أفلامها برصد الحياة الاجتماعية اليومية للشرائح الكادحة في مصر. وصفها النقاد بأنها "سفيرة السينما التسجيلية"، وصاحبة مدرسة السينما التسجيلية الواقعية الشاعرية.

جائزة أحسن إنتاج مشترك في مهرجان فالنسيا بإسبانيا عن الفيلم التسجيلي "إيقاع الحياة" عام 1990
جائزة جمعية نقاد السينما المصريين عن الفيلم التسجيلي "اللي باع واللي اشترى" عام 1992
ثلاثة أفلام تسجيلية للمخرجة عطيات الأبنودي، ثلاثة قصائد في مسيرة مخرجة انحازت للنساء، وانحازت للفقراء"
