Film Synopsis
When I Saw You takes place in 1967 Jordan when the world is alive with change. In Jordan, a different kind of change is underway as tens of thousands of refugees pour across the border from Palestine. Having been separated from his father in the chaos of war, Tarek, 11, and his mother Ghaydaa, are amongst this latest wave of refugees. Placed in “temporary” refugee camps until they would be able to return, they wait, like the generation before them who arrived in 1948. With difficulties adjusting to life in Harir camp and a longing to be reunited with his father, Tarek searches for a way out, and discovers a new hope emerging with the times. Eventually his free spirit and curious nature lead him to a group of people on a journey that will change their lives.

تدور أحداث فيلم "لما شُفتك" في الأردن عام ١٩٦٧ في وقتٍ كان فيه العالم ينبض بالتغيير. غير أن نوع مختلف من التغيير ساد وقتها في الأردن، حيث تدفق عشرات الآلاف من اللاجئين عبر الحدود من فلسطين. وكان طارق البالغ من العمر ١١ عامًا وأمه غيداء جزء من الموجة الجديدة من اللاجئين بعد انفصاله عن والده في فوضى الحرب. بعد وضعهما في مخيم لاجئين "مؤقت" حتى يتمكنا من العودة، ينتظر طارق ووالدته لم شملهما مع والده، ومثل الجيل الذي سبقهما الذي وصل في عام ١٩٤٨ يواجها صعوبات التكيّف مع الحياة في مخيم حرير والشوق. يبحث طارق عن مخرج، ويكتشف أمل جديد ينبثق مع مرور الزمن. في النهاية، قادته روحه الحرة وطبيعته الفضولية إلى مجموعة من الأشخاص في رحلة ستغير حياتهما.

Director’s Biography
Annemarie Jacir has written, directed and produced over sixteen films. Two of her films have premiered as Official Selections in Cannes, one in Berlin and in Venice, Locarno, Toronto and Telluride. All three of her feature films were Palestine's official Oscar entries (Salt of this Sea, When I Saw You and Wajib). With a commitment to teaching, training and hiring locally, Annemarie also curates and mentors, actively promoting independent cinema in the region. Founder of Philistine Films, she collaborates regularly with fellow filmmakers as an editor, screenwriter and producer. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the British Academy (BAFTA), and the Asian Pacific Academy. She has served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and in Berlin Competition jury. She is a cofounder of Dar Yusuf Nasri Jacir for Art and Research in Bethlehem, an artist-run space in her hometown of Bethlehem, Palestine.

آن ماري جاسر كتبت وأخرجت وأنتجت أكثر من ستة عشر فيلماً. عُرض فيلمان من أفلامها للمرة الأولى ضمن الاختيارات الرسمية في مهرجان "كان" السينمائي، في حين عُرض فيلم في مهرجان البندقية السينمائي وآخر في مهرجان برلين السينمائي ومهرجان تورونتو السينمائي ومهرجان تيلورايد السينمائي. أفلامها الروائية الثلاث (ملح هذا البحر وواجب ولما شفتك) تم ترشيحها عن فلسطين لجوائز الأوسكار عن أفضل فيلم بلغة أجنبية. إلى جانب إلتزامها بالتدريب والتدريس على النطاق المحلي، تقوم آن ماري أيضا ببرمجة الأفلام والإشراف والعمل بنشاط على دعم السينما المستقلة في المنطقة. باعتبارها مؤسسة لشركة "فلسطين للأفلام" تتعاون بشكل منتظم مع زملائها من السينمائيين كمونتيرة وكاتبة سيناريو ومنتجة. هي أيضا عضو في أكاديمية فنون وعلوم الصورة المتحركة Academy of Motion Arts and Science وفي الأكاديمية البريطانية بافتا The British Academy, BAFTA وكذلك في the Asian Pacific Academy. شاركت كعضو لجنة تحكيم في مهرجان كان السينمائي الدولي وفي مسابقة مهرجان برلين الدولي. كما شاركت أيضاً في تأسيس دار يوسف نصري جاسر للفنون والبحث في بيت لحم، وهي عبارة عن مساحة يديرها الفنانون في مدينتها بيت لحم في فلسطين.
