Carte Blanche Holder Biography

Eliane Raheb is a Lebanese female director. She directed several award-winning short films and documentaries.

Her main achievements include the feature documentary titles Sleepless Nights (ranked 5th in the Sight and Sound magazine’s classification for the best documentaries of 2013) and “Those who remain”, a feature documentary that has participated in more than 60 film festivals and won recently the Etoile de la Scam prestigious award.

إليان الراهب، مخرجة عدد من الأفلام الوثائقية القصيرة والطويلة. حازت أعمالها على جوائز عالمية. انطلقت مشاركات فيلمها الوثائقي الطويل الأول "ليالي بلا نوم" (2012) في مهرجان سان سيباستيان السينمائي، وأكثر من 70 مهرجانا حول العالم، وقد صنفته مجلة "Sight and Sound" في المرتبة الخامسة بين أفضل مئة فيلم وثائقي لعام 2013.
"ميّل يا غزيل" فيلمها الوثائقي الطويل الثاني، عُرض في أكثر من 60 مهرجاناً سينمائياً، وفاز ب7 جوائز.

Director’s Biography

Sandra Madi, born in Amman – Jordan 1976, is a Palestinian film Director/Actress/Writer, she has 20 plays on her record that toured many cities in Europe, performing and training young people through many workshops . Acting and improvising in theatre, she was awarded three times as best actress. She worked as a radio presenter. Directed for Jordan Television many programs. Produced and directed TV documentaries with Aljazeera since 2004. She graduated from the AIF (Arab Institute of Film) in December 2006.

ولدت ساندرا ماضي في عمان - الأردن عام ١٩٧٦. مخرجة وممثلة، منتجة وكاتبة سينمائية، لديها ٢٠ مسرحية في سجلها، تجولت فيها العديد من المدن في الدول العربية وأوروبا. قدمت عروض وتدريبات من خلال العديد من ورش العمل.عملت كمقدمة إذاعية. وعملت مع العديد من شركات الإنتاج المحلية والعالمية. تخرجت من المعهد العربي للسينما (AIF) في ديسمبر ٢٠٠٦.

Film Synopsis

Two years after joining the fighters in Lebanon, Ibrahim was shot while on duty leading to his paralysis, ending his dream of being part of the revolution.
Saken is a film about this fighter and his caretaker Walid.

ملخص الفيلم

بعد عامين من إنضمامه إلى المقاتلين في لبنان، أُصيب إبراهيم بالرصاص أثناء قيامه بواجبه، الأمر الذي أدى إلى إصابته بالشلل، وبالتالي إنهاء حلمه في أن يكون جزءاً من الثورة.
