رائدة غاضبة من أبيها، ليس لأنه في عام 1972 اختطف طائرة و لكن لأنه اختفي في أثناء عملية الاختطاف. أما سامية و سوريداد فانهما فخورتان بالسنوات التى ناضلت فيها أمهما (هاجر) الاحتلال الاسرائيلي لكنهما تدركا أن مقاومتها أثقلت كاهل العائلة. صور الفيلم جزئيا على شكل يوميات بالفيديو ليتساءل عن العلاقات الأسرية في ظل فترات الصراع.
Raeda is angry with her father, not because in 1972, he hijacked a plane but because he died in the process. Samia and Soridad are proud of the years their mother “Hajar” spent fighting the israeli occupation but know that her resistance put a strain on their family. في أثناء الانتفاضة الثانية تقرر المخرجة تصوير قصة الحب، و لكن سرعان ما تتغير الأمور و تجد وحدها وحيدة في حارتها مع أربع صبيان يصبحون أبطال فيلمها. بخلفيات و موضوعات متعددة، يتساءل “زمان الأخبار” عن تأثير الاحتلال و الاعلام في الحياة اليومية للأحياء الفلسطينية.
