سُعاد، شابة في التاسعة عشر، تعيش حياتين: فتاة متحفظة ترتدي الحجاب وسط أسرتها ومحيطها، وأخرى مهووسة بصورتها على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، تنغمس في عدة علاقات افتراضية مع الرجال. دائمة الكذب بشأن حياتها الشخصية، إذ هكذا تتحقق صورها المُشتهاة عن الحياة المختلفة التي طالما أرادت أن تعيشها. ببطءٍ تتحطم مساعيها عند اجتياح واقعها المُعاش فعلًا.
سلسلة من الأحداث البسيطة تؤدي إلى حادثة كارثية، وتلك بدورها تقود رباب، شقيقة سعاد ذات الـ١٣ عامًا، لتشرع في رحلة «واقعية» بحثًا عن إجابات
طوال فترة السبعينات، اخترق إلياس باراهونا، أو «الجاسوس»، قلْبَ أكثر الحكومات قمعيةً في جواتيمالا. في محاولة للنبش عن قصة ذلك الشخص الكتوم المتفرِّد، يلتقط «صمت الجاسوس» لحظات كشفٍ من الماضي تصنع شقوقًا في جدار الصمت الذي خيَّم على التاريخ المنسي لهذا البلد.

Souad, 19-year-old young woman, leads a double life. While remaining conservative and veiled among her family and society, Souad is obsessed with her image on social media, and goes in several secret virtual relationships with men. She constantly lies about her personal life, projecting wishfully images of a different desired life. Her ambitions are slowly crushed by the invasion of her true reality.
A series of small incidents lead to a tragic event, that makes Rabab, her 13-year-old little sister, embarks on a real-life journey looking for answers.

In seeking to uncover the story of this secretive and unique individual, “The Silence of the Mole", captures the moments when the revelations from the past probes the cracks in the walls of silence that surround this country’s hidden history.

Anais Taracena, director and producer with a master’s degree in Political Science. She has participated in programs such as Berlinale Talents and the IDFA Academy School as an emerging director. "The silence of the Mole” her first feature film has been screened in more than 70 Film Festivals and has won 23 international awards such as the Best Documentary Prize at Malaga Film Festival, the Special Jury Award at the Jeonju International Film Festival, South Korea and the Tim Hetherington Award in Sheffield Doc Fest.
Her short films have been screened at international film festivals and universities in different countries. In Guatemala she works with Human rights organizations as a filmmaker.

أناييس تاراسينا مخرجة ومنتجة حائزة على درجة الماجستير في العلوم السياسية. شاركت بصفتها مخرجة صاعدة في برامج مثل مواهب البرلينالي (Berlinale Talents) ومدرسة مهرجان أمستردام الدولي للأفلام الوثائقية (IDFA). عُرِضَ «صمت الجاسوس»، وهو فيلمها الطويل الأول، في أكثر من ٧٠ مهرجان سينمائي وحصل على ٢٣ جائزة، منها جائزة أفضل فيلم تسجيلي في مهرجان مالاجا السينمائي، وجائزة لجنة التحكيم الخاصة في مهرجان جيونجو السينمائي الدولي في كوريا الجنوبية، وجائزة «تيم هيذرنجتون» في مهرجان شيفيلد للأفلام الوثائقية (Sheffield Doc Fest).
عُرِضت أفلامها القصيرة في مهرجانات سينمائية دولية وفي العديد من الجامعات في مختلف البلدان. تعمل أناييس صانعة أفلام مع منظمات حقوق الإنسان في جواتيمالا.
