سُعاد، شابة في التاسعة عشر، تعيش حياتين: فتاة متحفظة ترتدي الحجاب وسط أسرتها ومحيطها، وأخرى مهووسة بصورتها على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، تنغمس في عدة علاقات افتراضية مع الرجال. دائمة الكذب بشأن حياتها الشخصية، إذ هكذا تتحقق صورها المُشتهاة عن الحياة المختلفة التي طالما أرادت أن تعيشها. ببطءٍ تتحطم مساعيها عند اجتياح واقعها المُعاش فعلًا.

سيرو فنانة أرمينية وُلدت في لبنان عام ١٩٣٣، تربطني بها صداقة طويلة أصقلها هذا الفيلم المترحِّل بين بيروت وباريس.
أحاديث مع سيرو فيلم عن الرثاء، وعن الوحدة، وعن المنفى، لكنه أيضًا عن لحظات المَرَح المُختَلَسَة من لبنان المُحتَضَر.

Souad, 19-year-old young woman, leads a double life. While remaining conservative and veiled among her family and society, Souad is obsessed with her image on social media, and goes in several secret virtual relationships with men. She constantly lies about her personal life, projecting wishfully images of a different desired life. Her ambitions are slowly crushed by the invasion of her true reality.
A series of small incidents lead to a tragic event, that makes Rabab, her 13-year-old little sister, embarks on a real-life journey looking for answers.
August 4, 2020, an apocalyptic explosion at the port of Beirut: 200 casualties, 6500 wounded, entire neighborhoods of the city left in ruin.
A tragedy, once again.
Siro is an Armenian artist born in Lebanon in 1933 to whom I am linked by a long friendship, made evident through this fragmented film, between Beirut and Paris.
Conversations avec Siro is about mourning, loneliness, exile but also about joyful moments stolen to history in a dying Lebanon.

Director
Dima El-Horr, holds a Ph.D. in Film Studies from Université Marne La Vallée Paris XII and a MFA in filmmaking from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
She is the author of the book Mélancolie Libanaise, le cinema après la guerre civile - L’Harmattan, 2016.
During several years, she taught film at the Lebanese American University.
Her documentary Conversations avec Siro (2021, documentary 53’) had its world premiere in the International Competition at Dok Leipzig (October 2021), then in les Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montreal (RIDM), at the International Documentary Film Festival of Kerarala, Festival Jean Rouch, Inalco, Beirut Cinema Days… and has been broadcasted on France 3 Television in l’Heure D, a slot dedicated to authors’ and creative documentaries.

تحمل ديما الحُرّ درجة الدكتوراة في دراسات السينما من جامعة باريس مارن لا فاليه ودرجة الماجستير في السينما من معهد الفنون في شيكاغو.
ألَّفت كتاب «الكآبة اللبنانية: سينما ما بعد الحرب الأهلية» الصادر بالفرنسية عن دار «لارماتان» عام ٢٠١٦. ولسنوات عديدة، درَّست السينما في الجامعة اللبنانية الأمريكية.
صدر فيلمها التسجيلي «أحاديث مع سيرو» عام ٢٠٢١ ومدته ٥٣ دقيقة. وكان عرضه العالمي الأول في أكتوبر ٢٠٢١ في مهرجان دوك لايبزيج. عُرِض بعدها في مهرجان مونتريال الدولي للأفلام التسجيلية، ومهرجان كيرالا السينمائي الدولي، ومهرجان جان روش، وأيام بيروت السينمائية. كذلك عُرِض الفيلم على التليفزيون الفرنسي في فقرة مخصصة للأفلام التسجيلية الإبداعية وسينما المؤلف.
